Job summary

Flintex Consulting Pte Ltd seeks an experienced Injection Molding Engineer in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The role requires at least 8 years hands-on experience with injection molding and a solid understanding of mold construction and GD&T. Proficiency in Moldflow or Moldex3D is essential.

You will lead mold testing, DOE studies, and collaborate with vendors and production to ensure smooth development and high-quality molded parts.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in engineering or manufacturing is required.
8+ years hands-on experience in injection molding is required.
Understanding of mold construction and plastic part drawings with GD&T callouts.
Proficiency in molding simulation software such as Moldflow or Moldex3D.

Responsibilities

Operate injection molding machines and related equipment (automation handling, mold temperature controller, chiller, mixer, etc.).
Apply optimal injection parameters to achieve dimensional stability and reduce defects.
Carry out mold testing independently and lead mold trials ensuring molds meet requirements.
Establish testing procedures and safety guidelines for molds.
Coordinate with vendors, planners and production to ensure smooth handovers during mold development.
Conduct DOE on injection parameters to study effects on molded parts with data support.
Be the go-to expert for injection-related issues; provide input on part moldability during DFM.
Experience in tool steel grades and resin selection to ensure mold quality and reduced maintenance.
