Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Engineer (HVAC) in Malaysia to manage engineering, site execution, and commissioning for large-scale data center and critical facility projects. You will collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure safe, timely, and compliant delivery from design through handover.

You will coordinate design development, field installation, testing, and documentation, while tracking progress, procurement, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in HVAC project engineering.
• Experience delivering large-scale commercial, industrial, or data center projects is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in HVAC installation, coordination, and commissioning.
• Data center or mission-critical project experience is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate HVAC design development, shop drawings, and method statements.
• Review project specs and ensure compliance with drawings and codes.
• Manage day-to-day HVAC site activities per approved drawings and schedules.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning, testing, and handover activities.
• Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover docs.
• Support cost control, procurement, and variation evaluation.
• Enforce QA/QC and safe work practices.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain project records.
