Job summary

UEM Edgenta Bhd seeks a senior Civil Engineer to support planning, design and construction supervision of highway projects in Sabah. The role requires close collaboration with project teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant delivery under contract terms.

You will lead site teams, review technical submissions, monitor safety and quality, and contribute to progress reporting and claims assessment. A PE license with BEM and extensive highway experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) is required.
• Minimum 15 years total experience or 12 years in road/highway construction.
• Proven highway/roadworks construction, site supervision and project delivery.
• Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia as PE.
• Strong technical, project management and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager in planning, design and construction supervision of highway works.
• Monitor site activities for compliance with drawings, specs, quality standards and contracts.
• Coordinate with Work Package Contractors (WPC), consultants, SOR, project teams, landowners, authorities and other external stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to the site team and ensure coordination.
• Review method statements, material submissions, shop drawings and design changes.
• Monitor quality, HSSE and construction compliance; review QA plans and reports.
• Track project progress against the approved schedule and suggest mitigations.
• Verify completed works and assist in evaluating contractor progress claims.
• Prepare project reports, site records and progress updates.
• Support variations, design changes, project completion certificates and as-built acceptance.
