Job summary
A leading renewable energy firm is looking for a Senior Grid System Design Engineer in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. This role involves advanced mathematical simulations for BESS as well as supplier auditing. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 8 years of experience in utility-scale power systems with demonstrated knowledge in BESS modeling and TNB impact studies. This position offers an opportunity to influence key projects in the energy sector.
Qualifications
Minimum 8+ years in utility-scale power systems.
Direct experience modeling at least two utility-scale BESS projects (min 10MWh+) in a professional simulation environment.
At least 3 successful TNB Grid Impact Study (GIS) approvals.
Responsibilities
Develop site-specific BESS models including Inverters (PCS), BMS, and PPC.
Critically review BESS and PPC supplier proposals.
Lead the execution of Load Flow, Short Circuit, and Transient Stability studies.
Serve as the lead technical representative at TNB GSO meetings.
Perform detailed harmonic resonance studies.
