Job summary

Michael Holmes Resources is seeking a Logistics Excellence Manager in Penang to lead a specialist team spanning quality, compliance, IT systems, customs, dangerous goods, and costing. The role drives KPI governance, improvement projects, and cost reductions in a manufacturing setting.

You will oversee IT rollout, cross-functional projects, and data-driven initiatives while developing people and building a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA is an advantage.
• 10+ years of supply chain or logistics experience, including manufacturing.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience.
• Proven project management track record.
• Working knowledge of dangerous goods regulations and logistics compliance; qualification is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of supply chain costs, budgeting, and business-case development.
• International work experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Logistics Excellence department across quality, improvements, IT systems, customs compliance, dangerous goods, and costing.
• Define and monitor KPIs and governance routines; close performance gaps with corrective actions.
• Lead or contribute to logistics IT rollouts, upgrades, and stabilisation.
• Drive logistics quality improvements, audit closures, and compliance initiatives.
• Identify and implement cost reduction and productivity initiatives with validated business cases.
• Contribute to cross-functional projects involving new products, infrastructure, material flow, warehousing, and IT changes.
• Ensure clear ownership, escalation paths, and cross-functional communication across logistics topics.
• Represent plant logistics in company-wide expert networks; manage documentation and training.
• Develop, coach, and mentor team members; build succession depth and high-performance culture.
