Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking a Senior Global Commodity Manager – Mechanical to lead regional sourcing in Malaysia/Southeast Asia, coordinating supplier strategies, contract negotiations, and cross-functional teams to secure high-quality materials for SEMI industry manufacturing.

The role requires strong leadership, PMI/Lean Six Sigma background, and willingness to travel regionally to Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and China; a mix of in-office and remote work is available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading strategic sourcing, commodity management, program management, and cross-functional supplier initiatives in a global manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing supplier strategies, managing executive-level supplier relationships, and driving measurable sourcing outcomes across cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and supplier leadership, communicate complex tradeoffs, and align teams around business-critical sourcing decisions.
• Self-directed leader who can prioritize competing business needs, provide clarity in ambiguous situations, and drive timely execution of sourcing initiatives, supplier recovery plans, and strategic programs.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes regional commodity strategies across Malaysia/Southeast Asia for metals machining, sheet metal fabrication, coatings, electronic components, cables, and gas distribution.
• Leads strategic negotiations for pricing, terms, contracts, capacity, and long-term supplier agreements with executive relationships.
• Serves as the senior commercial and supply-chain owner for supplier escalations, coordinating cross-functional resources to resolve production, quality, delivery, capacity, and cost challenges.
• Owns end-to-end sourcing execution from RFQ through supplier selection, PO placement, material delivery, and supplier performance management.
• Engages suppliers across Malaysia, Southeast Asia, China, and other regions to secure high-quality materials and competitive total cost.
