Senior Front-End Engineer – Offshore Field Development

Job summary

Confidential in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Front End Engineer to lead field development planning for offshore gas projects. You will provide FEED inputs, budgets, and risk assessments to support timely, cost-effective development decisions.

Role requires 8–15 years in offshore oil & gas, with strong EPCIC, economics and stakeholder management skills. Contract role with 24-month term; on-site in Malaysia, with collaboration across subsurface, drilling, asset planning and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a petroleum-related discipline.
• 8-15 years of offshore oil & gas experience, with at least 4 years in greenfield development planning.
• Strong capability in cost estimating and cost phasing, economics evaluation, and project and cost risk assessment.
• Strong business acumen, analytical and strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Formulate the field development plan and prepare technical inputs for evaluation of development scenarios.
• Provide front-end engineering inputs to E&A strategy in collaboration with exploration and subsurface teams.
• Perform concept screening studies and provide inputs to concept selection and facilities sizing.
• Develop standardized WHP designs for 3-string, 4-string and 5-string well configurations.
• Apply standardized WHP design to shorten delivery time and reduce CAPEX.
• Develop topside reuse framework including screening studies and donor-receiver matching.
• Work with subsurface team to develop depletion strategies for reuse and alignment with development plan.
• Identify and support cost-saving initiatives such as bundled WHP EPCIC strategies.
• Prepare cost estimates and cost profiles for development options and inputs to economics evaluation.
• Facilitate and deliver project and cost risk assessments and track mitigation actions.
• Prepare FEED deliverables and provide inputs to decision gates and WP&B.
• Coordinate meetings and workshops with stakeholders on FEED and field development plan.
• Interface with engineering, drilling, operations and external stakeholders to align on scope, cost and schedule.
