Job summary

RBC Malaysia's Finance team provides FP&A and accounting support across Asia Pacific, acting as the Center of Expertise for APAC Finance.

We are seeking a qualified finance professional to maintain Singapore's accounting records, prepare statutory reporting, handle intra-group invoicing, and support year-end audits, while driving process improvements in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Finance discipline focus, preferably Accounting, Audit, or Management Reporting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance roles
  • Degree required and accounting designation strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts within a financial institution
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial accounting records for Singapore, including P&L review and balance sheet journals.
  • Prepare reporting in line with RBC and statutory requirements (SOX, GL attestation, tax submissions).
  • Prepare intra-group and transfer pricing invoices and bookings.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable COE to ensure AP and fixed assets are accurate.
  • Assist with year-end audit.
  • Participate in local and global projects and drive process improvements.
  • Maintain centralized reporting processes and current procedure notes.

What is the opportunity?

The Finance team at RBC Malaysia provides Finance and Accounting support to RBC Malaysia locally, in addition to all of RBC’s businesses in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. The Finance operations in Malaysia is the Center of Expertise for APAC Finance, providing Accounts Payable, Financial Control, Product Control and Performance Management services. The objectives for Malaysia Finance is to provide First Class accounting services to our stakeholders in Asia Pacific, and to enable onshore Finance teams to fulfil their roles as valued Finance business partners.

Region: Singapore

Working hours: 9:00AM – 6:00PM

  • Maintain the financial accounting records for Singapore. This includes, but not limited to: review and commentary of the non-trading P&L, monthly balance-sheet attestation and preparation of NIE and balance sheet journals.
  • Prepare reporting in line with RBC and statutory requirements, e.g. Standard of Documentation packages, SOX, GL attestation, home surveys, and Finance and Tax submissions to home authorities.
  • Prepare Intra-Group and Transfer Pricing invoices and booking of corresponding entries.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable COE to ensure accounts payable and fixed assets are accounted for accurately and timely.
  • Assist with year-end audit.
  • Actively participate in local and global projects, including assisting in driving continuous process improvements, such as report standardisation and centralisation of processes.
  • Maintain standard, centralized processes where applicable to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of management reporting.
  • Ensure documentation such as procedure notes are current, and maintained in line with best practices.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • A finance discipline, preferably Accounting, Audit, Management Reporting and Financial Planning & Analysis
  • 5 + years experinence
  • Degree required and Accounting designation strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge and application of accounting concepts within a Financial Institution.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
