Job summary

Menta Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the company's financial operations across our construction projects in Malaysia. You will be responsible for financial reporting, project accounting, budgeting, cash flow management and risk control to support project delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, and hands-on expertise with project costing, WIP reporting, progress claims and subcontractor

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–8 years of finance and accounting experience, including managerial experience.
• Construction industry experience preferred with understanding of project costing, WIP reporting, progress claims, retention sums, subcontractor payments, and project cash flow management.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, taxation, statutory compliance, and internal controls in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and finance functions including monthly management accounts, financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Prepare and monitor company-wide and project-level cash flow forecasts, manage liquidity and working capital for project operations.
• Oversee client progress claims, collections, retention sums, subcontractor payments, supplier accounts, and outstanding balances to maintain cash flow.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and regularly review forecasts, funding requirements, and financing costs.
• Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, guarantees, and liaise with auditors, tax agents and external parties.
• Ensure compliance with MFRS, SST, tax, statutory obligations, and internal controls.
• Lead and develop the finance team while collaborating with project managers, contract/commercial teams, procurement, and senior management.
