Job summary

The role requires a degree in engineering, BEM registration, and 5+ years in field engineering, including leadership experience with offshore transportation and installation projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Marine Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Registered with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).
• At least five years as a Field Engineer and one year as lead Field Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, monitor, and manage technical execution activities to support project objectives.
• Review technical project documentation and identify changes or gaps in deliverables.
• Plan and assign engineering resources to support delivery per schedule.
• Prepare, develop, and review installation documentation, procedures, drawings, sketches, and related deliverables.
• Ensure technical accuracy and compliance of procurement, fabrication, installation, and inspection docs.
• Coordinate with project teams to support engineering delivery and project execution.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and develop junior staff.
• Prepare project briefings and ensure offshore/onshore teams understand safety and quality requirements.
• Support offshore/onshore construction by resolving technical queries during execution.
• Manage offshore/onshore construction scheduling and maintain as-built documentation.
• Review daily progress reporting for technical accuracy and completeness.
• Support loadout planning, barge setup, anchor pattern development, rigging calculations, and installation verification.

Senior Field Engineer Position Overview

This Senior Field Engineer opportunity is with a company operating in the offshore engineering environment and offers broad involvement across planning, technical delivery, and offshore execution. The Senior Field Engineer will play a key role in supporting safe and effective project delivery, coordinating engineering activities, and ensuring documentation and construction activities meet required standards. This position is well suited to a technically strong Senior Field Engineer who can work across office, onshore, and offshore settings and provide practical engineering leadership. The Senior Field Engineer role offers strong exposure to transportation and installation work, project coordination, and offshore construction support.

Role Context

This position sits within an offshore engineering and construction environment, supporting transportation and installation and EPCI project activity. The role involves a mix of office-based engineering work and onshore/offshore operational support, with responsibility for coordinating technical deliverables and supporting construction execution. The successful candidate will work closely with project and construction personnel and contribute to installation planning, execution, and as-built documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, monitor, and manage technical execution activities to support overall project and engineering objectives.

• Provide technical guidance to engineering team members and support the development of junior engineers.
• Prepare project briefings and ensure offshore and onshore personnel understand relevant technical, safety, and quality requirements.
• Support offshore and onshore construction activities by resolving technical queries and coordinating engineering responses during execution.
• Manage aspects of offshore and onshore construction scheduling and maintain accurate as-built documentation.
• Review daily progress reporting for technical accuracy and completeness.
• Support loadout planning, barge set-up, anchor pattern development, rigging calculations, and engineering verification activities for offshore installation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Marine Engineering from a recognised higher learning institution.
• Registered with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).
• At least five years of experience as a Field Engineer and at least one year in a lead Field Engineer capacity.
• Project experience across contract types such as transportation and installation and EPCI.
• Experience in offshore transportation and installation methodology and execution.
• Ability to review scope of work, interpret construction drawings, and support subcontractor, material, and equipment planning for projects.
• Ability to supervise, monitor, and provide technical support for offshore installation and fabrication yard loadout activities.
• Ability to perform engineering verifications, installation calculations, rigging calculations, and develop installation sketches and drawings.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with offshore transportation and installation software including MOSES, SACS, Orcaflex, StaadPro, OFFPIPE, ANSYS, and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering codes and standards including ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and DNV.
• Knowledge of additional foreign languages.
