Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Marine Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Registration with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).
• At least five years as a Field Engineer and four years as a Senior Field Engineer.
• Experience in offshore transportation and installation methodology and execution.
• Experience with MOSES, SACS, Orcaflex, StaadPro, OFFPIPE, ANSYS and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, execute, monitor and manage onshore activities and offshore operations.
• Lead Field Engineers and Senior Field Engineers in planning and execution of project work.
• Review contract documents, specs, drawings and procedures for offshore installation activities.
• Coordinate vessel requirements and movements with marine and logistics personnel.
• Monitor progress and site conditions, escalate schedule or execution issues.

Installation Manager Position Overview

This Installation Manager opportunity sits within a technically demanding engineering environment focused on offshore construction project execution. The Installation Manager position offers the chance to lead field engineering activities across onshore and offshore scopes, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of complex work. This Installation Manager role is well suited to candidates with strong offshore transportation and installation experience, leadership capability, and a practical understanding of project execution. The Installation Manager will play a key part in coordinating engineering, operations, and project stakeholders throughout delivery.

Role Context

This opportunity is within the energy sector and supports major offshore construction and project delivery activity. The role is focused on offshore transportation and installation work, including execution across onshore preparation and offshore operations. The working environment is technically complex and involves close coordination with field engineers, senior field engineers, project management, marine personnel, and other operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, execute, monitor, and manage onshore activities and offshore operations during offshore construction projects.
• Lead and supervise Field Engineers and Senior Field Engineers in the planning and execution of project work.
• Review contract documents, specifications, drawings, and technical procedures related to offshore installation activities.
• Coordinate vessel requirements and movements with relevant marine and logistics personnel.
• Monitor work progress and site conditions, escalating developments that may affect schedule or execution sequence.
• Liaise with project management to support delivery requirements during project execution.
• Review and approve installation engineering and procedures to support safe and effective project delivery.
• Support planning activities, subcontract scope preparation, material requirements, and timely coordination of procurement needs.
• Resolve technical issues arising during offshore installation and contribute to corrective actions where required.
• Provide technical input during project design and tender stages in relation to installation methods and offshore operations requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Marine Engineering from a recognised higher learning institution.
• Registration with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).
• At least five years of experience as a Field Engineer and four years of experience as a Senior Field Engineer.
• Project experience across offshore contract types such as T&I and EPCIC.
• Experience in offshore transportation and installation methodology and execution.
• Familiarity with offshore transportation and installation software including MOSES, SACS, Orcaflex, StaadPro, OFFPIPE, ANSYS, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering industry codes such as ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and DnV.
• Strong English communication skills, with the ability to manage teams and liaise effectively across departments and client-facing environments.
• Desirable: Knowledge of additional foreign languages.
