Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Penang is seeking an experienced Mechanical Facilities Engineer to own the reliability and performance of central chilled-water, PCW, and glycol utility systems within a semiconductor fab.

You will lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs, coordinate OEM service contracts, optimize energy use via BMS, and drive improvements with data-driven analyses. This is a hands-on, on-site role requiring collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of mechanical or facilities engineering experience.
Experience with central chilled-water plants and process cooling systems.
Experience in semiconductor/high-purity environments is preferred.
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

Act as the responsible O&M owner for assigned systems during their operational service life.
Develop, own, and continuously refine the preventive (PM), predictive (PdM), and condition-based maintenance strategy.
Plan and schedule all maintenance activities via the SAP PM.
Manage OEM service contracts, specialist vendors, and in-house technicians.
Own reliability performance (MTBF, MTTR, availability) and drive improvements.
