Job summary

Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner that helps market-leading brands design, build and deliver innovative products. The Facilities Engineer will be based in Bukit Minyak, Penang, applying engineering to design and modify facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in manufacturing products.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and typically 6+ years of related experience, with expertise in essential utilities and plant infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires 6+ years of related experience.
• Matter Expertise in clean rooms, walk-in coolers & freezers, RO/DI water systems, waste neutralization, compressed gas distribution, vacuum systems, process chillers and non-clean utilities.
• Manufacturing plant construction in a cGMP industry; preferably in Medical Devices or Pharma.
• Facilities Engineering construction activity at MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Process) discipline.
• FRACAS (Fault/Root Cause Analysis and Review).
• Utilities (steam, cooling media, heating media, water systems, compressed air).

Responsibilities

• Research facility products or equipment specifications to define designs producible by existing facilities and methods.
• Research engineering proposals, process requirements and related data for industrial facilities machinery and equipment design.
• Define feasibility of new plant facilities equipment or modifications considering costs, space, time and planning factors.
• Provide technical facilities information on manufacturing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages/limitations.
• Compile and research facilities data to establish performance standards for equipment.
• Stay updated on engineering publications for industry advances.
• Use CAD/CAE software to perform engineering tasks.
• Guide projects and project teams.
