Job summary

Flex, located in Bukit Minyak, Penang, seeks a Facilities Engineer to apply engineering principles to design, modify and develop facilities, testing, machines and processes used in manufacturing products.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering (or equivalent) and typically 6+ years of related experience, with expertise in clean rooms, RO/DI water systems, utilities, and cGMP environments. Strong project leadership and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience and training.
• Typically requires a minimum of 6+ years of related experience.
• Matter Expertise in clean rooms, Walk-in Coolers & Freezers, RO/DI Water systems, Waste Neutralization, Compressed gas distribution, vacuum systems, Process chillers and non-clean utilities.
• Manufacturing plant construction in a cGMP industry; preferably in Medical Devices or Pharma.
• Facilities Engineering construction activity at MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Process) discipline.
• Fault/Root Cause Analysis and Review (FRACAS).
• Utilities (steam, cooling media, heating media, water systems, compressed air).

Responsibilities

• Research facility products or equipment specifications to define designs producible by existing facilities.
• Research engineering proposals, process requirements and related data for industrial facilities machinery and equipment design.
• Define feasibility of new plant facilities equipment or modifications considering costs and space.
• Provide technical facilities information on manufacturing techniques, materials, properties and processing.
• Compile and research data to establish performance standards for equipment.
• Study engineering publications to keep abreast of changes in industry.
• Use CAD/CAE software to perform engineering tasks.
• Guide projects and project teams.
