Job summary

MR D.I.Y. Malaysia is seeking an experienced Tax Compliance specialist to join our finance team. You will prepare provisional tax computations, oversee transfer pricing documentation, and ensure compliance with SST and other taxes across the group.

Candidates should have a minimum of five years' experience in tax, a relevant degree or professional qualification, and strong communication skills to liaise with senior management and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in provisional tax computations, tax estimates, and review of tax returns.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of provisional tax computations, tax estimates, and review of tax returns.
• Oversee the preparation and completion of transfer pricing documentation and country-by-country reporting to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and tax laws.
• Assist in the management and compliance of indirect taxes (e.g., SST, withholding tax) and related filings.
• Candidates with transfer pricing experience will be added advantage.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external advisors, and tax authorities to address various tax-related matters, serving as the main liaison for tax audits and other government agencies.
• Compile and manage documentation requested for tax audits, project initiatives, planning, and internal governance purposes, working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in ad-hoc tax projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW) or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in tax compliance.
• Proven experience working in a accounting firm or within a commercial in-house tax department.
• A proactive attitude, agility, and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with senior management, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
• Possess good organizational skills and able to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
• A committed team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
