Job summary

MR D.I.Y. Malaysia is seeking a data scientist/forecasting professional to build and maintain forecasting models that support business planning and decision-making.

You will evaluate model performance and develop what-if simulations to assess pricing, display, and stock changes, ensuring robust forecasting across stores and online channels. You will design optimization approaches for inventory allocation, create impactful dashboards, and collaborate with data stakeholders to ensure reliable data

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python (e.g., libraries such as pandas, sklearn) and SQL.
• Hands-on experience in time series forecasting and predictive modeling.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning concepts and techniques.
• Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and delivery (good to have).
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across diverse teams (good to have).
• Demonstrated critical and creative thinking abilities.
• Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical and innovative solutions.
