Jobstreet Malaysia is seeking a Senior Executive, Purchasing (Packaging Materials) to plan, source, negotiate and purchase raw materials at the most favorable timing, terms and price for the organisation.
You will lead the purchasing team, ensure policy compliance, evaluate suppliers, monitor market trends, manage import documentation and supplier performance, and maintain accurate records for traceability.
This role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of purchasing experience.
Plan, source, negotiate and purchase raw materials at the most preferable timing, deal terms and best price for the organisation needs whilst being compliant to organisation’s guiding principles and government regulations.
Responsibilities:
Source and procure products and services that meet quality, cost, delivery, credit term, and after-sales service requirements in accordance with company purchasing policies.
Lead and supervise the purchasing team to ensure efficient procurement activities, policy compliance, and achievement of cost and service objectives.
Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and recommend suppliers by analysing pricing, specifications, commercial terms, and overall value.
Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supply risks to support strategic sourcing and cost management decisions.
Review product costs and quality regularly to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining required quality standards.
Execute procurement activities based on operational requirements and approved technical specifications to ensure uninterrupted production.
Monitor supplier delivery performance, product quality, and inventory levels to ensure timely material availability for operations.
Process Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and promptly in accordance with SOPs to support smooth procurement operations.
Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, freight forwarders, banks, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries and proper documentation.
Manage import and shipping documentation to facilitate customs clearance, transportation, and timely receipt of goods.
Verify supplier invoices against Purchase Orders and supporting documents before submission for payment within agreed credit terms.
Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, SOPs, and related documentation to ensure traceability and compliance.
Manage product registrations, import permits, and regulatory licences (e.g. DVS, MAQIS, MPIC, LKIM) to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Continuously review and improve procurement processes, systems, and SOPs to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
Develop, coach, and manage team performance through regular feedback, training, and capability development initiatives.
Perform any other tasks and assignments as directed by the management from time to time.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement, Economics, Trading or equivalent.
