Horizontal Talent in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Executive, DevOps & Release Engineering to design, implement, and maintain automated deployment pipelines, IaC, and release processes across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to improve platform reliability, security, and scalability, while contributing to documentation and continuous improvement.

Qualificações

Role Summary

The Senior Executive, DevOps & Release Engineering is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure environments across cloud and on-premise platforms. The role focuses on DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), release management, automation, system reliability, security, and operational excellence. Working closely with engineering, product, and operations teams, the incumbent will drive continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), improve platform stability, and support scalable, secure, and highly available technology environments. This role also contributes to technical documentation, process improvement initiatives, and knowledge sharing within the team.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps & Release Management

• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Manage release processes, deployment automation, and environment promotion strategies.
• Ensure deployment consistency across development, testing, staging, and production environments.

Infrastructure Automation

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using industry-standard automation tools.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes.
• Improve infrastructure scalability, repeatability, and governance through automation.

Cloud & Infrastructure Operations

• Support and manage cloud, virtualized, and on-premise infrastructure environments.
• Oversee server, storage, networking, and platform operations to ensure system performance and availability.
• Support cloud-native technologies, containers, and modern application deployment models.

Reliability Engineering

• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Drive initiatives that improve system reliability, performance, resilience, and scalability.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

Tools & Platform Management

• Administer and integrate DevOps, collaboration, and observability tools.
• Maintain source code repositories, build systems, deployment platforms, and monitoring solutions.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance operational efficiency.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure infrastructure and deployment activities comply with organizational security policies and industry standards.
• Implement security best practices throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle.
• Support audit, risk management, and compliance requirements where applicable.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions and operational improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and support for infrastructure and deployment-related initiatives.
• Participate in project planning, implementation, and post-deployment reviews.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge repositories.
• Promote best practices in DevOps, automation, reliability engineering, and release management.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team capability development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in cloud, DevOps, or infrastructure technologies are an advantage.
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and systems administration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Familiarity with containerization, orchestration platforms, and cloud-native architectures.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or related technical roles.
• Hands-on experience managing cloud and/or hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Practical exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and system automation.
• Experience supporting mission-critical production environments with high availability requirements.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
