Job summary

AFA Construction and Engineering Sdn Bhd in Temerloh, Pahang, seeks a Senior Executive (CEPSTPO) on a contract basis to oversee operation, maintenance and compliance of sewage treatment plants along KL - Karak Highway and ECE1.

The role requires leading DOE and environmental compliance, managing STP processes, and coordinating with vendors and regulatory bodies; travel between highway STP locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Engineering with STP O&M experience or Diploma/Certificate with extensive STP O&M experience.
• CEPSTPO Certification is required.
• Experience with highway STP systems and activated sludge processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor STP systems to ensure standard compliance.
• Conduct routine inspection, sampling and performance monitoring.
• Analyze effluent quality data and take corrective actions.
• Manage activated sludge and other treatment systems.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and coordinate PM with contractors.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports to authorities.

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Executive (CEPSTPO) join our team at AFA Construction and Engineering Sdn Bhd in Temerloh Pahang on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible to oversee the operation, maintenance and compliance of sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) along KL - Karak Highway and ECE1. The candidate will ensure all plants operate efficiently and comply with Environmental Quality Act 1974 and Environmental Quality (Sewage) Regulations 2009.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate and monitor STP Systems to ensure compliance with DOE discharge standards

Conduct routine inspection, sampling, and performance monitoring of STP processes

Analyse effluent quality data and take corrective actions when required

Manage and optimize activated sludge processes and other treatment systems

Ensure proper operation of mechanical and electrical equipment (blowers, pumps, dosing systems, etc

Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) and coordinate with contractors for repairs.

Troubleshoot plant issues and implement corrective and preventive actions

Prepare and submit environmental reports to relevant authorities (DOE, concessionaire, etc)

Maintain proper documentation, log sheets, and compliance records

Liaise with regulatory bodies and attend inspections or audits when required

Ensure safety and health, and environmental procedures are followed at all STP sites.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Engineering with at least 6 years STP Operations & Maintenance experience or Diploma / Certificate with at least 10 years STP Operation & Mainenance

Must have CEPSTPO Certification

Experience in sewage treatment plant operation and maintenance and also handling highway STP systems

STP Processes (especially activated sludge system)

Willing to travel between multiple highway STP locations
