Job summary

Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced Senior Fire Officer to lead as Fire Ground Commander during aircraft incidents and to oversee AFRS operations and safety compliance across airport facilities.

The role requires managing rescue and firefighting capacity, maintaining fire protection systems, and training staff to meet regulatory standards and company requirements. Experience as a Fire Chief in airport settings is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree holder in any relevant field, with advantage to Management, Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or Health, Safety & Environment.
• Diploma holder with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead as Fire Ground Commander in aircraft accident/incident response.
• Oversee shift rescue and firefighting capacity for efficiency and effectiveness.

Job description

Lead as the Fire Ground Commander in the event of an aircraft accident or incident within the vicinity of the airport.

Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of shift rescue and firefighting capacity.

Maintain the readiness of facilities and equipment in accordance with the required category readiness.

Oversee and ensure that all fire protection, fire detection and fire suppression systems within airport buildings and terminal facilities are maintained in good working condition, operationally ready and compliant with applicable fire safety requirements, regulations and standards.

Train and develop AFRS personnel in all aspects of rescue and firefighting.

Identify and report any malfunction involving the Crash Rescue Tender.

Participate in rescue and firefighting drills as planned and required under the training programme.

Provide technical advice and expertise on fire prevention in accordance with company requirements, UBBL, and applicable Standards and Recommended Practices.

Coordinate matters related to safety compliance, procedures, Q-Radar, and internal or external audits.

Monitor existing and new legislation and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local requirements.

Perform the role of Risk Coordinator for the AFRS Department.

Assist the AGM, AVSEC & AFRS, in evaluating and ensuring the effectiveness of AFRS by reviewing practices, policies and procedures, and maintaining Station Orders.

Oversee the conduct and discipline of AFRS personnel.

Manage disciplinary matters firmly and in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

Manage the day-to-day operations of the office, including organising and maintaining files and records, as well as planning and scheduling meetings and appointments.

Maintain records of staff leave applications.

Education:

Minimum Degree holder in any relevant field, with an advantage given to candidates with qualifications in Management, Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or Health, Safety & Environment.

Diploma holder with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Fire Officer in operations and administration, with an advantage given to candidates who have experience serving as a Fire Chief at other airport.
