Job summary

SUGIHARA GRAND INDUSTRIES SDN. BHD. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant in Penang to lead the full accounts function, deliver timely monthly closings, and prepare IFRS-compliant management accounts.

The role requires strong analytical skills, high integrity, and the ability to liaise with auditors and regulators. Candidates should hold an accounting degree or professional qualification and have at least eight years of accounting experience, with proficiency in accounting software

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or recognized professional qualification is required.
• At least 8 years of experience in accounts functions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills is essential.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Familiar with computerized accounting systems and strong numeric aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly reports and analyses.
• Coordinate with auditors, bankers and regulatory authorities.
• Identify stock take discrepancies and prepare stock movement control sheet.
• Review actual BOM cost on a quarterly basis.
• Ensure timely closing of the monthly accounts.
• Compute sales analysis, sales chart, gross profit chart, cash flow etc.
• Identify project costing for quarterly review.
• Ensure integrity and security of confidential data.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly management accounts per IFRS including general ledger and trial balance.
• Provide up-to-date and accurate financial information as required by Management.

Job description

Managing and coordinating full sets of the accounts function of the company including reports and analysis.

Key responsibilities

Responsible for handling monthly report and analysis

Liaison with auditors, bankers and other finance and regulatory authorities

Identify stock take discrepancies and prepare stock movement control sheet

Review on actual BOM cost on a quarterly basis

Ensure timely closing of the monthly accounts

Compute sales analysis, sales chart, gross profit chart, cash flow etc

Identify project costing for quarterly review

To ensure integrity and security of confidential data

Preparing monthly/quarterly/yearly management accounts in accordance to International Financial Reporting Standard which include general ledger and trial balance

Provide up-to-date and accurate financial information as and when required by the Management
