Job summary

Mills Recruitment seeks a senior maintenance engineer for a global automotive components manufacturer in Johor. You will own reliability of high-volume motor assembly lines, coating lines and industrial robots, and lead the maintenance technicians who keep them running.

You will develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs, lead installation and upgrades, perform root cause analysis, drive TPM, and ensure IATF 16949 compliance while optimizing OEE, MTBF and MTTR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years equipment maintenance or plant engineering experience in automotive manufacturing (Tier 1 or OEM).
• Strong hands-on PLC troubleshooting experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Mitsubishi).
• Experience with servo drives, industrial robots and automated assembly equipment.
• Solid knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, electrical circuits and mechanical transmissions; reading schematics/drawings.
• Proven experience with TPM, preventive maintenance systems and CMMS.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 maintenance records, calibration and equipment FMEA.
• Experience leading maintenance technicians and cross-functional teams.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programmes for lines and robots.
• Lead installation, commissioning and upgrades of new equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical breakdowns.
• Drive root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why) and corrective actions.
• Roll out TPM and autonomous maintenance, improve OEE, MTBF and MTTR.
• Manage spare parts, maintenance costs, and IATF 16949 documentation; ensure safety compliance.
• Supervise and develop maintenance technicians; collaborate with production, quality and suppliers.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering

8+ years equipment maintenance or plant engineering experience in automotive manufacturing

Strong hands-on PLC troubleshooting

Experience with servo drives, industrial robots and automated assembly equipment
