Job summary

Venture Electronics Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Bayan Lepas, Penang, is hiring a Senior Engineer, RF/Microwave Test to maintain RF/microwave production test solutions, support NPI, and optimize test time and yield in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires 7+ years in RF/microwave test engineering, hands-on RF ATE, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and data-driven problem solving. Collaboration with design, reliability, and operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Typically 7+ years of experience in RF/microwave test engineering, with strong production test exposure.
• Solid understanding of RF/microwave theory and practical measurement challenges in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with RF ATE, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
• Experience with automated test software and data analysis tools.
• Preferred: experience in high-volume semiconductor or module manufacturing.
• Knowledge of DFT/DFM, test economics, and cost-of-test optimization.
• Familiarity with wireless standards such as 5G NR or RF front-end products.
• Experience working with offshore manufacturing or multiple production sites.
• Strong RF production debugging and failure analysis skills
• Data-driven mindset with focus on yield and cost
• Ability to balance test coverage vs. throughput
• Clear communication with manufacturing and leadership teams
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced production environments

Responsibilities

• Production RF test development and sustainment for mass manufacturing.
• Translate product specs into efficient RF test coverage while avoiding over-testing.
• Support NPI, test bring up, and production ramp to volume.
• Optimize test time and throughput to meet cost and cycle targets.
• Drive yield improvement by analyzing failure modes, test limits, guard bands and false fails.
• Perform RF parameter validation and production screening (gain, NF, output power, EVM, ACLR, etc.).
• Diagnose RF production failures and correlate bench, characterization and ATE results.
• Develop and maintain automated production test programs using ATE platforms.
• Ensure test software stability, version control and change management.
• Drive calibration, GR&R, MSA, and cross-site correlation across testers.

We’re looking to add a Senior Engineer, RF/Microwave Test in Bayan Lepas plant.

As a Senior Engineer, Test in RF/Microwave, You will:

Production RF Test Development & Sustainment

Maintain RF/microwave production test solutions for mass manufacturing environments.

Translate product specifications into efficient, manufacturable RF test coverage without over testing.

Support new product introduction (NPI), test bring up, and production ramp to volume.

Manufacturing Test Optimization

Optimize test time and throughput to meet cost and cycle time targets.

Drive yield improvement by analyzing failure modes, test limits, guard bands, and false fails.

RF Measurement & Debug

Perform RF parameter validation and production screening for gain, NF, output power, EVM, ACLR, phase noise, harmonics, spurs, and frequency response.

Diagnose systematic, marginal, and intermittent RF failures in production.

Correlate bench, characterization, and ATE results to ensure measurement consistency.

ATE & Automation

Develop and maintain automated production test programs using ATE platforms and RF instrumentation.

Ensure test software stability, version control, and change management.

Equipment, Fixturing & Correlation

Drive equipment calibration, GR&R, MSA, and cross site correlation across multiple testers.

Work with suppliers to resolve equipment, fixture, or handler issues affecting RF performance.

Manufacturing Support & Escalations

Provide onsite or remote production support for yield, quality, and line down issues.

Lead root cause analysis for production escapes, customer returns (RMA), and field failures.

Support audit, quality, and reliability activities related to RF test processes.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Analyze high volume test data to identify trends, shifts, and early signals of process drift.

Develop dashboards and reports focused on yield, defect pareto, and test efficiency.

Recommend test and process improvements based on data driven insights.

Cross Functional Collaboration

Work closely with design, product engineering, reliability, operations, and quality teams.

Provide production feedback to influence RF design, testability (DFT), and margining decisions.

Technical Leadership

Mentor junior production test engineers and technicians.

Lead best practice standardization for RF production testing across products and sites.

Act as subject matter expert for RF production test methodology.

What skills and experiences are we looking:
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred).

Solid understanding of RF/microwave theory and practical measurement challenges in manufacturing.

Hands‑on experience with RF ATE, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting high‑volume semiconductor or module manufacturing.

Knowledge of DFT/DFM principles, test economics, and cost‑of‑test optimization.

Familiarity with statistical analysis methods (Cp/Cpk, SPC, GR&R).

Exposure to wireless standards such as 5G NR or RF front‑end products.

Experience working with offshore manufacturing or multiple production sites.

Strong RF production debugging and failure analysis skills

Data‑driven mindset with focus on yield and cost

Ability to balance test coverage vs. throughput

Clear communication with manufacturing and leadership teams

Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced production environments

Primarily manufacturing and RF lab‑based, with regular interaction with production lines.
