Job summary

OFS Malaysia, a MODEC Group company, invites applications for a Senior Engineer, Mechanical based in KL Eco City, Malaysia. You will independently determine requisitions for mechanical packages and evaluate bids to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with technical requirements.

You will lead rotating equipment design and supplier coordination, support construction and commissioning, and uphold HSSEQ policies while collaborating with international teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in oil & gas.
• Experience with FPSO and offshore applications.
• Experience on EPC projects.
• Familiar with ASME, API, and NACE standards.

Responsibilities

• Determine and prepare requisitions for mechanical packages and equipment.
• Evaluate technical bids and assist in selecting appropriate rotating equipment.
• Develop technical specifications/standards for rotating equipment.
• Review supplier documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers, shop floors, and construction teams for execution.
• Ensure compliance with HSSEQ policies and resolve technical issues during delivery.

Senior Engineer, Mechanical

We are currently based at KL Eco City, Malaysia.

Role Purpose

To independently determine and prepare the Requisitions for packages of mechanical components and / or equipment that are required in a project, assists in evaluating the technical aspects of bids and executing in order to deliver the packages on time and to ensure that the packages meet the technical requirements.

Key Accountabilities

• Technical requirements-Understands the specifications and requirements in the area of mechanical rotating equipment (such as Cetrifugal Pumps, Postive Displacement pumps, Air and utilty compressor, steam/gas turbines,etc.,) of the assigned package. - Responsible with minimum guidance for Mechanical Design and selection of Rotating equipment in compliance with applicable International codes ASME, API etc.,
• Engineering document preparation- Independently develops technical specifications/standards and Requisitions for rotating equipment such as Cetrifugal Pumps, Postive Displacement pumps, Air and utilty compressor, steam/gas turbines,etc
• Supplier selection- Independently evaluates the technical aspects of bids received from suppliers and concludes assessment to the bide. Generally, less complex packages and middle risk equipment are assigned.
• Supplier management- Assists in placing and executing the orders. After orders, independently reviews Supplier documents (such as data sheets, drawings) for their completeness, accuracy and compliance. Being the focal point, liaises and coordinates with various stakesholders.
• Support for other discipline- Provides technical/engineering support/visit and advice for quality work at supplier shop and Construction/Commissioning work at site
• Technical issue resolution- Independently resolves technical issues using expert knowledge and technical know-how that may arise during the execution of package engineering, fabrication and post delivery.
• Compliance with HSSEQ policies- To ensure business activities and decisions conform to the laws and regulations and demonstrates high standard of ethical behaviour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in Mechanical engineering in oil and gas sector, preferable experience in FPSO, off-shore application
• Possess relevant experience working on EPC projects
• Shall be conversant with design standards and International Industry Codes such as ASME, API, NACE, etc.
