Job summary

Axonect in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Java backend developer to modernize enterprise web apps using Java and Spring Boot. You will collaborate with analysts and cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

You will design and maintain microservices with RESTful/SOAP APIs, JPA and MySQL, implement CI/CD with Jenkins and SonarQube, and apply secure coding per OWASP while leveraging AWS and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/IT or related field.
• 4+ years of production Java app development.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, reactive programming, microservices, Maven, JPA, REST/SOAP, MySQL.
• CI/CD, automated testing, code quality tools, and GitLab/Jenkins/SonarQube.
• Knowledge of secure coding, OWASP Top 10, deployment, and AWS.
• Familiar with Java WebFlux, Quarkus, Redis, Kafka, Vault.
• Experience with Linux/Red Hat and Bash scripting.
• Strong analytical and teamwork and documentation skills.
• Oracle or Java certifications advantageous.
• Experience in financial services or credit reporting systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical documentation, identify implementation improvements, and share knowledge with team members

Person Specifications

• Bachelor's degree, postgraduate diploma, or professional qualification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of production-level Java application development experience
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Boot, reactive programming, microservices, Maven, JPA, RESTful/SOAP APIs, and MySQL
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, code quality tools, and version control systems such as GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10, application deployment, and AWS cloud services
• Familiarity with Java WebFlux, Quarkus, Redis, Memcached, Kafka, and Vault is advantageous
• Experience with Linux/Red Hat, Bash scripting, and application monitoring is an added advantage
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, teamwork, and technical documentation skills
• Oracle or Java certifications are advantageous
• Experience in the financial services industry or credit reporting systems is an added advantage
