Job summary

Axonect in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking a Java-focused software engineer to develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications. You will work with Spring Boot, microservices, and RESTful APIs, collaborating across teams to implement features and resolve issues.

The role requires 2+ years of production Java experience, familiarity with testing, CI/CD, and secure coding practices. Exposure to AWS, Linux, Kafka, Redis, and related technologies is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications using established technical specifications and business requirements.

• Write unit and integration tests and support automated testing and CI/CD processes.
• Maintain code quality and security standards, including OWASP secure coding practices.
• Support application deployments, production monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
• Use version control and development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
• Prepare technical documentation and participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications using established technical specifications and business requirements

Person Specifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of production-level Java application development experience
• Experience in Java application development, preferably in a production environment
• Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Maven, JPA, RESTful APIs, and relational databases such as MySQL
• Familiarity with microservices, reactive programming, automated testing, CI/CD, and version control
• Understanding of secure coding practices, application monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Exposure to AWS, Linux, Kafka, Redis, or other caching and messaging technologies is advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Java or Oracle certifications are an added advantage
