Job summary

Canaan U.S. Inc. is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance firmware for edge computing devices.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable embedded solutions powering next-generation EdgeAI hardware. The role requires 5–10+ years in firmware or device drivers, strong C/C++, Python skills, and a BS in a related field.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of hands-on embedded firmware or device drivers experience.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python for embedded development workflows.
• Bachelor of Science in EE, CS, or CE.
• Strong collaboration across hardware, software, QA, and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug low-level embedded firmware and device drivers for MCU/SoC hardware.
• Write efficient, memory-safe production code in C/C++ and use Python for automation.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to bring up new embedded platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex HW-SW interface issues.
• Contribute to embedded software architecture and code reviews.
• Support edge AI deployment on constrained devices if applicable.
