2. Job Responsibilities

A. Overview and Scope of Responsibilities

1. Mission

As a key technical specialist in test equipment engineering, the Senior Electronics Engineer is responsible for leading the hardware architecture design of customer product test systems. The role requires leading cross-functional teams comprising software, mechanical, and electrical engineers to deliver projects throughout the entire lifecycle, from proof of concept and design validation through New Product Introduction (NPI) and mass production.

The position is accountable for ensuring high measurement accuracy, system stability, and manufacturability.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of customers’ Device Under Test (DUT) testing requirements.
• Independently develop the overall electronic test system architecture, including the selection of key instruments such as Source Measure Units (SMUs), Data Acquisition (DAQ) cards, and audio analyzers; design signal-switching matrix topologies; and evaluate project budgets.

(2) Core Hardware Design and Review (30%)

• Design schematics for signal-conditioning circuits, including low-current amplification and audio filtering circuits, as well as interface and adapter boards.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to establish strict PCB routing constraints, including impedance control, length matching, and crosstalk management. Guide and review PCB layout work completed by engineering assistants to ensure signal integrity and compliance with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements.

(3) Hardware-Software Integration and System Validation (20%)

• Work closely with host-computer software engineers and embedded systems/electrical engineers to lead initial power-on and smoke testing, as well as hardware-software integration and debugging at the equipment manufacturer's facility.
• Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities and prepare Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) and Process Capability Index (Cpk) validation reports.

(4) NPI On-Site Technical Support and Customer Communication (20%)

• Serve as the Project Owner and primary technical lead, traveling to customer contract manufacturing facilities to lead equipment installation, setup, and technical troubleshooting during the NPI phase.
• Quickly identify and resolve complex production‑line issues, including electromagnetic interference (EMI), poor probe contact, and ground loops, while effectively managing customer technical expectations.
• Act as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for electronics‑related matters. Based on actual customer and project requirements, prepare clear, accurate, and compliant validation reports and issue‑analysis reports (One-Pagers). Deliver structured, professional technical presentations and explanations to customers and internal engineering teams.

3. Performance Evaluation Criteria

• Engineering Quality: Achievement of required GR&R performance and First Pass Yield (FPY) targets for assigned projects during mass production.
• Delivery Efficiency: On‑time completion of key NPI project milestones, including first prototype power‑on and equipment shipment.
• Technical Documentation and Knowledge Retention: Quality and completeness of design specifications and post‑project Issue List review reports.
• Customer Satisfaction: Satisfaction levels of end customers and contract manufacturers with on‑site technical support.

4. Job Requirements

A. Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electronics Engineering, Automation, Measurement and Control Technology and Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
• Three to five years of experience in hardware R&D or the design of test equipment, such as Functional Circuit Test (FCT), In-Circuit Test (ICT), or Automated Test Equipment (ATE).

B. Core Technical Skills (Hard Skills)

• Strong foundation in analog circuit design and extensive experience with operational amplifier (op‑amp) circuit design.
• Experience in micro‑current testing at the microampere (µA) or nanoampere (nA) level, or high‑fidelity audio signal testing, is preferred.

EDA Tools and Test Instruments

• Proficient in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software, such as Cadence, PADS, or KiCad.
• Proficient in using test instruments, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and Source Measure Units (SMUs).

Interfaces and Communication Protocols

• Familiar with common communication protocols, including I²C, SPI, UART, and USB.
• Able to work with software engineers to capture and analyze communication traces and troubleshoot logic‑related issues.
