Job summary

Keysight Technologies SAles Spain SL in Malaysia seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and integrate electrical and electronic systems for custom rack systems and other system-level products.

You will prepare schematics and wiring diagrams, select components, lead project activities from concept through product release, and provide manufacturing support, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from a recognized university.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in electrical/electronic/system integration environments.

Responsibilities

• Electrical and Electronic System Design

  • Design, develop, and integrate electrical and electronic solutions for custom rack systems, custom boxes, and other system-level products.
  • Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings, and supporting engineering documents.
  • Select and specify electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components that meet technical, quality, cost, and reliability requirements.
  • Perform engineering analysis, troubleshooting, verification, and validation to ensure compliance with customer and business requirements.

• Project Execution and Technical Support

  • Lead or participate in project planning, execution, and delivery activities from concept development through product release.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and project management.
  • Provide technical leadership and support during prototype development, first-build activities, and product deployment.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues encountered during product development and production.

• Manufacturing and Production Support

  • Work closely with production teams during pilot runs and initial production builds to ensure successful product launch.
  • Provide timely engineering support to address manufacturing issues, yield concerns, quality problems, and process-related challenges.
  • Review manufacturing feedback and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product manufacturability and reliability.
  • Support engineering change implementation and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

• Documentation and Process Development

  • Develop, maintain, and control comprehensive engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Prepare project documentation, operating instructions, work instructions, assembly procedures, test procedures, and technical reports.
  • Convert engineering designs and development outputs into production-ready documentation for manufacturing use.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with company standards, quality requirements, and configuration management processes.

• Continuous Improvement and Cost Optimization

  • Identify and drive opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering, and process optimization.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve product performance, quality, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions for recurring issues.
  • Recommend innovative engineering solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and business competitiveness.

• Technology Adoption and Innovation

  • Proactively explore and adopt emerging technologies, digital tools, and AI-driven solutions to improve engineering productivity, design quality, and decision-making.
  • Utilize modern engineering methodologies and automation tools to enhance design efficiency and documentation accuracy.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements relevant to system solutions and electrical engineering.

• Additional Responsibilities

  • Undertake additional assignments and responsibilities as directed by the Engineering Manager to support business objectives.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to contribute across multiple projects and functional areas as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

Education

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechatronic Systems Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from a recognized university.

Experience

• Preferably 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in electrical, electronic, system integration, product development, or manufacturing engineering environments.
• Experience in custom system solutions, rack systems, instrumentation systems, industrial equipment, or similar engineered products is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting products from design through production release and manufacturing support is preferred.

Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of electrical and electronic system design principles.
• Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with electrical components, power distribution systems, control systems, signal interfaces, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of product development processes, design verification, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Experience in developing engineering documentation, work instructions, assembly instructions, and test procedures.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and continuous improvement methodologies.
