Job summary

MIE INDUSTRIAL SDN BHD in Negeri Sembilan, Seremban, seeks an experienced Discipline Lead Engineer to manage electrical engineering work from concept to completion. You will ensure designs meet time, budget and quality requirements while coordinating with project teams and clients to deliver reliable solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, BEM registration, and at least 8 years in Oil & Gas, Power, or related industries, with strong leadership and constructability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical) or equivalent.
• Registered engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• 8 years' experience in Oil & Gas, Power, Petrochemical, Oleochemical, Water treatment or similar.
• High technical capability in electrical discipline.
• Ability to review engineering deliverables and documents for quality.
• Able to train and supervise younger engineers.
• Provide input to client discussions as an expert.

• Prepare technical bid evaluations.
• Review vendor data and drawings for integration.
• Provide technical input to other disciplines and project teams during construction, commissioning and acceptance tests.

Job description

Manage all aspects of engineering work assigned from start to finish and ensure that all work is carried out within the set time, budgetary, quality, and technical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Able to undertake Discipline Lead Engineer role for a project or tender work.
• Analysis of technical contractual documents and design criteria
• Responsible for technical and quality matters of design deliverables, schedule compliance, and budget control by providing input to project execution plans and schedules for the project.
• Perform or initiate conceptual, basic design, and detail design calculations and drawings.
• Plan project work effectively and ensure all project work is done according to schedule and budget.
• Interface with the Client Engineers during project execution work
• Prepare technical requisitions/specifications/data sheets/MTO
• Prepare technical bid evaluations
• Review and incorporate vendor data and drawings
• Provide technical advice and input to other disciplines, Project Management, Client, and Site during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and acceptance test

Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical) or equivalent field
• Registered engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
• 8 years' experience in executing engineering work in Oil & Gas, Power Plant, Petrochemical, Oleochemical, Water treatment, or similar industries
• High technical capability in most aspects of electrical discipline
• Ability to plan and review all engineering deliverables and non-deliverables documents or drawings from a technical and quality point of view
• Able to train and supervise younger engineers in some aspects of discipline
• Able to support the Project team and/or Business Development group in discussions with Client Engineers/Managers as an expert
• Experience in providing input on constructability, operational, and maintenance issues in design
• Effective communication skills with Engineers and Designers to ensure design integrity and consistency
• Valid safety pass from Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Oil & Gas Safety Passport (OGSP)
