Senior Electrical & Control Design Engineer
Responsible for the complete controls solution and electrical design based on customer specifications and Sys-Mac standardized practice.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical schematics, proposal writeups, calculations etc, according to customer specifications and requirements, and compiling estimated system costs at RFQ stage.
- Execute design according to customer requirements and complete project tasks within given schedule and budget.
- Execute of circuit design according to international electrical standards.
- Prepare circuit diagrams for wiring execution.
- Prepare Bill of Material (BOM), I/O List, Electrical inspection report.
- Lead PLC, HMI, servo motion, and industrial network programming based on project requirements.
- Support RFQ activities, technical proposals, feasibility studies, and solution development.
- Initiate Purchase Request (PR) on order of electrical components to be used for the project.
- Liaise with the Customer, Mechanical Design, Software Engineer and Project Engineer for the electrical design and wiring execution of the project.
- Provide thorough testing of machine functionality to verify electrical wiring and safety completeness.
- Work with other members of the controls department to continuously improve method of integrated control technology.
- Provide onsite support and troubleshoot electrical, controls, and automation-related issues.
- Prepare of Machine Operation Manual for the project.
- Execute Engineering Change Notice (ECN) for change of electrical design.
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
- Supporting Engineers in Operational tasks.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Robotic/Automation) or equivalent
- Min 8 years relevant experience in Automation project
- Experience in HMI development, servo motion control, machine automation, robotics, and vision system integration
- Proficient in PLC platforms such as Omron, Panasonic, Siemens, Beckhoff, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols including EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, and CC-Link IE
- Good understanding of CE, UL, IEC, SEMI, and machine safety standards
- Ability to design electrical circuits and perform electrical calculations
- Knowledge of AutoCAD software
- Knowledge of SolidWorks CAD will be an added advantage
- Experience in electrical wiring troubleshooting skills on panel or machine
- Able to perform assigned tasks independently or through team activities
- Self-motivated, highly resourceful and organized
- Willing to travel overseas for assignments at short notice
- Good interpersonal communication skills
