Job summary

Micron Penang is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to uphold Micron's EHS standards, Malaysian laws, and global certifications while ensuring smooth site operations. You will lead safety programs, perform inspections, manage contractor EHS processes, and drive risk reduction across manufacturing, facilities and external sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant safety or engineering field.
• Background in occupational safety, contractor safety, or semiconductor operations.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian safety requirements and permit-to-work systems.
• Experience with incident investigation, root-cause analysis, audits, and EHS reporting.
• Proven contractor management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to support emergencies outside hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support occupational safety programs across site areas.
• Conduct inspections, Gemba walks, and compliance assessments.
• Manage contractor EHS prequalification, onboarding, training, and monitoring.
• Assess EHS plans, JHAs, method statements, and safe work procedures.
• Oversee permit-to-work for high-risk activities.
• Verify controls and stop work when risks are unacceptable.
• Lead EHS risk assessments for operations and projects.
• Investigate injuries, near-misses, and high-potential events.
• Coordinate EHS alerts, lessons learned, and preventive actions.
• Liaise with DOSH, BOMBA, and authorities as assigned.
