Job summary

The Arkema Group in Pasir Gudang, Johor seeks a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to lead high-voltage maintenance and reliability programs. The role requires BO11 certification and extensive hands-on experience with electrical systems, instrumentation, and DCS.

You will supervise maintenance activities, troubleshoot complex faults, and coordinate with contractors while ensuring HSE compliance and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• BO11 Competency Certificate from Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and DCS.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot high‑voltage equipment.
• Excellent safety awareness and leadership in maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as Chargeman BO11 (11kV) in compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including switchboards, transformers, and protective devices.
• Support instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, including DCS and field instruments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and instrumentation faults to minimize downtime.
• Support plant shutdowns and turnaround activities related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain records of inspections, calibration reports, and licensing documentation.
• Review and update electrical single line diagrams for the plant.
• Maintain valid BO11 11kV competency certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Ensure all electrical systems are operated and maintained under supervision of a certified Chargeman as per Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994.
• Prepare documentation and support audits related to Energy Commission inspections and licensing renewals.
• Develop and deliver training modules for technicians and engineer.
• Conduct on-the-job coaching and walkthroughs during maintenance activities.
• Assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance checklists.
• Provide technical input for maintenance planning and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Support coordination of contractors and internal teams during major maintenance works.
• Participate in HSE Committee and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Mentorship Pairing – Junior technicians shadow the Chargeman during key tasks.
• SOP Review Sessions – Update procedures and share best practices.
• Safety & Compliance Briefings – Insights on Suruhanjaya Tenaga audits and permit systems.
• Support for Capex Projects initiatives.
