Surbana Jurong in Malaysia seeks an experienced Civil Draftsperson to prepare detailed drawings for roads, highways, bridges and other civil infrastructure. You will interpret designs and markups to produce precise construction drawings and submission packages.

You will coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams, check drawing quality to ISO standards, manage CAD files and document control, and support junior drafters to improve efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of civil drafting experience.
• Proven experience in road/highway and structural drafting.
• Experience on large, complex projects with multiple organisations and teams.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings for roads, highways, junctions, earthworks, drainage, utilities, bridges, structures, culverts and other civil infrastructure works.
• Interpret engineering designs, sketches and mark‑ups to produce accurate construction and submission drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to resolve drawing discrepancies and design interfaces.
• Check drawing quality, accuracy and compliance with project specifications, authority requirements and company drafting standards.
• Manage CAD files, drawing registers, revisions, templates and document control in accordance with ISO procedures.
• Support junior drafters and improve drawing production efficiency and quality.

3. Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma, Certificate or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant civil engineering drafting experience.
• Proven experience in road and highway, structural and civil infrastructure drafting.
• Experienced in large and complex projects involved many discipline and organizations
• Proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with engineering drawing standards and ISO quality management procedures.
• Able to work independently, coordinate with engineers and deliver drawings within project deadlines.
• Good coordination, communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.

4. Additional Advantages

• Experience with BIM software such as Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks.
• Experience in overseas projects.
• Knowledge of ACAD script, CAD management systems, file management, drawing revision control and document management platforms such as ProjectWise.
• Familiarity with MicroStation or other civil engineering design software.
• Knowledge of JKR requirements and relevant international drafting standards.2
