Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a senior infrastructure Production Support Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to independently troubleshoot complex production issues and improve stability through automation. You will guide junior resources and own deeper triage across OS, databases, and logs in a regulated tech environment.

Responsibilities include leading RCA, building automation, and supporting containerized deployments with Docker/Kubernetes, while coordinating with cross-functional teams and documenting

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 to 8 years of infrastructure/application production support experience in banking or regulated tech.
• Strong scripting depth in at least one language with ability to write, maintain and troubleshoot automation scripts.
• Ability to write and optimize SQL queries and collaborate with DBAs for deeper issues.
• Hands-on ITIL-based Incident, Problem and Change Management in production.
• OS exposure across Linux/Unix/RHEL and Windows with troubleshooting skills.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, PowerShell, Perl or batch with automation evidence.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring/observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Own deeper technical triage across OS, DB, batch, logs, observability and dependencies.
• Design and enhance automation scripts for recurring tasks, health checks, log extraction and runbooks.
• Lead problem analysis, trend identification and preventative actions for recurring incidents.
• Support containerized or modern environments with Docker/Kubernetes in production.
• Coordinate incident triage and root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain production stability through monitoring, alert analysis and risk escalation.
• Document incidents, changes, risks and runbooks using Jira/Confluence.
