Job summary

StarHub in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Matrixx DevOps Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of cloud-native platforms, manage Kubernetes/OpenShift operations, and drive CI/CD automation. The role involves incident resolution, customer care, and continuous optimization of cloud services.

You will design robust microservices with Java/Spring Boot, implement RESTful APIs, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure reliability, security, and scalability of systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in developing enterprise applications using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, principles, and best practices.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for deployment and orchestration.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools.
• Hands-on production experience with Jenkins and CI/CD best practices.
• Solid understanding of AWS core services, IAM security, and cost-optimization practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement RESTful APIs and ensure service performance, security, and stability.
• Write clean, well-tested code following best practices and design patterns.
• Develop and manage services on OpenShift/Kubernetes, including Dockerfiles and resource configs.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot services in OpenShift environment.
• Contribute to architectural design focusing on loose coupling, high cohesion, fault tolerance.
• Perform code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge.
• Support on-call duty and resolve production incidents with root‑cause analysis.
• Build technical docs for architecture, API specs, and system integrations.
