Job summary

StarHub in Malaysia seeks a Senior Matrixx DevOps Engineer to lead end-to-end cloud-native delivery, from design to on-call incident response. You will design, build, and operate microservices using Java and Spring Boot, dockerize services, and manage OpenShift/Kubernetes deployments.

You will own CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), ensure security and performance, and collaborate across teams on architecture, data persistence, and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field.
• 3+ years of Java enterprise app development with Spring Boot.
• Strong microservices, REST API design and integration skills.
• Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift deployment and orchestration.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiar with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tooling.
• Blended DevOps/SRE/Software Eng experience.
• Knowledge of Helm and OpenShift features is a plus.
• Jenkins production experience and CI/CD practices.
• Prog: Python/Go/JS/TS proficiency.
• AWS core services, IAM security, cost optimization.
• L2/L3 Linux, networking, and scripting.
• Agile mindset, Scrum experience, and strong collaboration.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust microservices with Java/Spring Boot.
• Build RESTful APIs with performance and security in mind.
• Manage OpenShift/Kubernetes deployments and Dockerfiles.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and tests.
• Collaborate on architecture and data persistence (SQL/NoSQL).
• Support on-call rotations, incident resolution and RCA.
• Create runbooks and technical documentation for ops teams.
