Job summary

Adecco is seeking a senior project manager for HVAC and M&E projects in Malaysia. The role focuses on engineering designs and managing large-scale construction and cleanroom projects from initial concept through testing and handover.

Responsibilities include tender submissions, risk management, budget oversight, and cross-functional coordination with QA/QC, HSE, Procurement, Finance, and clients to ensure timely delivery and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in HVAC/M&E project design and management.
• Proven ability to deliver large-scale cleanroom or high-hygiene facilities.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and contractual requirements.

• Monitor and control budgets, cash flow, variation orders and subcontractor payments.

• Ensure construction/installation works comply with drawings, specs and standards.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and authorities.
• Prepare and present weekly/monthly progress reports with status, risks and mitigation plans.

Job description

• Participate in tender submissions, engineering studies, technical proposals, resource planning, cost estimation, tender clarifications and maintenance proposals.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing timely corrective actions to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor and control project budgets, cash flow, progress claims, variation orders, and subcontractor payments to ensure effective commercial management.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, procurement plans, manpower allocation, and resource planning to achieve project milestones.
• Coordinate closely with QA/QC, HSE, Procurement, Finance, and other internal departments to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure all construction and installation works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, and relevant industry standards.
• Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and local authorities to facilitate project delivery and foster long-term business relationships.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly project progress reports, highlighting project status, risks, cost performance, and mitigation plans to management and clients.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience within the HVAC and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) sector with substantial, proven tenure in an engineering design and project management capacity.
• Demonstrated mastery of complex HVAC architectures tailored specifically for advanced electronics/semiconductor fabrication plants, pharmaceutical manufacturing, sterile healthcare facilities or high-hygiene F&B environments.
• A proven history of successfully delivering large-scale, multimillion-ringgit cleanroom construction projects from initial engineering design through to testing, commissioning, and final handover.
