Job summary

Mcct Sdn Bhd seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead HT/MV, LV and ELV electrical designs for commercial and industrial projects. You will coordinate with clients, consultants and vendors from design through commissioning.

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical/M&E contracting, be proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office, and bring strong leadership and problem-solving skills for delivery and handover.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical/M&E contracting or building services experience.
• Strong knowledge of HT/MV, LV and ELV electrical systems.
• Experience with SLDs, BOQs, tender support and value engineering is an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; ST Chargeman/Wireman competency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate HT/MV, LV and ELV electrical designs for commercial and industrial projects.
• Prepare and review SLDs, load calculations, cable sizing, BOQs, equipment selection, layouts and specifications.
• Conduct site surveys and deliver practical, compliant and cost-effective solutions.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors and authorities on technical matters.
• Review drawings and calculations ensuring compliance with ST requirements and standards.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Guide and mentor the Design Engineer to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Support tender submissions, VE, cost optimisation and VO assessments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the development of HT/MV, LV, and ELV electrical designs for commercial and industrial projects.

Prepare and review SLDs, load calculations, cable sizing, BOQs, equipment selection, layouts, and technical specifications.

Conduct site surveys and develop practical, compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and authorities to resolve technical and design-related matters.

Review drawings, calculations, and technical submissions while ensuring compliance with ST requirements, MS/IEC standards, and project specifications.

Provide technical support during construction, testing, commissioning, and project handover.

Guide and mentor the Design Engineer to ensure quality and timely project delivery.

Support tender submissions, Value Engineering (VE), cost optimisation, and Variation Order (VO) assessments.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), or a closely related engineering discipline.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical/M&E contracting or building services.

Strong knowledge of HT/MV, LV, and ELV electrical systems.

Experience in SLDs, BOQs, tender support, and Value Engineering is an advantage.

Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

ST Chargeman/Wireman competency is an added advantage.

Strong communication, coordination, and technical problem-solving skills.
