Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to design solar PV systems for Large Scale Solar projects. The role requires close collaboration with clients, sales, project teams, and internal stakeholders to develop optimized, compliant, and cost-effective solar designs.

The position involves site assessments, detailed drawings, PVsyst simulations, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. You will support procurement and provide technical support during installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy) required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in solar PV design or related engineering work.
• Experience in Large Scale Solar (LSS) projects is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, or similar design tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and evaluate project feasibility for LSS solar installations.
• Design solar PV systems, including module, inverter, mounting structure, and electrical component selection.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and system schematics with PV design tools.
• Perform shading analysis, energy yield simulation, and system optimization using PVsyst.
• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, utility standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Support procurement with technical specifications for equipment sourcing.
• Provide technical support during installation, construction, and commissioning stages.
• Collaborate with Project, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines.
• Assist in resolving technical issues during project execution.
• Stay updated with the latest solar technologies and industry best practices.

The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for designing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for Large Scale Solar (LSS) projects. The role involves working closely with clients, sales, project teams, and internal stakeholders to develop optimized, compliant, and cost-effective solar system designs that meet technical, regulatory, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and evaluate project feasibility for LSS solar installations
• Design solar PV systems, including module, inverter, mounting structure, and electrical component selection
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and system schematics Perform shading analysis, energy yield simulation, and system optimization using PVsyst
