Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a data analytics professional to collaborate with business operations, automate ETL, and publish insights to stakeholders. The role focuses on mining data, building dashboards, and documenting analytics processes using BI tools.

The ideal candidate has strong statistics, data manipulation skills, and the ability to work independently while communicating findings clearly. 100% onsite in Ipoh, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS/DS/SE/Stats/Math.
• Strong statistical/analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with large data sets and unstructured data insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willing to learn new knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business operations to understand business reporting requirements.
• Assist in data ETL automation and deployment of query scripts.
• Communicate and publish data analytics findings, results, and reports to stakeholders.
• Write technical documentation such as technical proposals, system application documentation.
• Mine, analyze data and generate dashboard reporting using BI software.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
• Excellent statistical/analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with large data sets, mining insights in unstructured data, and adapting to rapidly evolving project focus.
• Strong programming skills in SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other BI/data visualisation software; advanced Excel for analytics insights.
• Experience with Python, R, C# or similar is an advantage.
• Experience with purchasing/procurement analytics is an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good team player, self‑motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Self‑started, keen, and willing to learn new knowledge.
