Job summary

Sherwin-Williams in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Sr. Data Engineer to lead data management and delivery across enterprise data platforms. You will influence BI environment, implement modern data warehousing, and drive ETL/ELT, data integration, and analytics initiatives.

You will collaborate with global teams in UK, Malaysia, Mexico and USA, design scalable data pipelines, and ensure high-quality data for Tableau, Power BI, and OBIEE. Strong analytics and cloud experience required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in a related field.
5+ years IT experience.
5+ years as data engineer or related role with large datasets.
3+ years scripting Oracle SQL & PL/SQL.
2+ years Snowflake; cloud certifications preferred.
2+ years ETL tools: IDMC / IICS, ODI, SSIS, Informatica.
Unix/Linux scripting experience.
Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala.
Azure and Snowflake DW exposure.
Experience building data sources/models for Tableau, Power BI, OBIEE.

Responsibilities

Extensive full life-cycle expertise in modern data warehousing, including ETL/ELT, CI/CD automation, data modelling, and BI solutions.
Design and develop or modify and optimize data loads via ETL/ELT CI/CD processes to the data warehouse.
Collaborate with engineers across UK, Malaysia, Mexico and USA to meet objectives.
Execute project plans, support data loads, issue tracking, escalation and resolution.
