The Adecco Group is partnering with a leading financial institution in Malaysia to hire a Senior Core Banking Developer / Technical Delivery Manager. You will lead a delivery team focused on Core Banking CIF modules, guide developers through code reviews, and oversee project management aspects across release cycles.

Expect hands-on work with Silverlake Core Banking on AS400 (RPG/CL/DB2/400), delivering secure, compliant solutions while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with stakeholders.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Senior Core Banking Developer with strong hands on coding skills to take the next step in their career. This role is actually a Technical Delivery Manager position which requires the candidate to have the hands on coding skills to guide a team of developers, helping solution problems and conducting code reviews. The other aspect of this role is project managment. Both the people management and project management aspects of this role can be learnt on the job and training will be provided, what we need is solid technical skills and knowledge on core banking technologies. Technical Delivery Managers are welcome to apply, however you would still need to be technical enough to do code reviews and solution problems with the development team. This role is open to both locals and Expats

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a delivery team supporting Core Banking channel integration and development.
• Oversee technology delivery for the Customer (CIF) module within the Silverlake Core Banking platform.
• Design, develop, and maintain applications using RPG and Control Language (CL) on the AS400 platform.
• Plan and execute Quarterly Release (QR) activities, including deployment coordination and production readiness.
• Manage Quality Assurance activities such as test planning, test case reviews, defect management, and QA sign-off.
• Coordinate with business users, solution architects, vendors, and internal technology teams.
• Perform effort estimation, task planning, and delivery tracking to ensure timely execution.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards during release cycles.
• Provide regular status updates, delivery progress, and risk assessments to business and IT stakeholders.
• Manage change requests, system patches, and platform upgrades in collaboration with internal and vendor teams.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including release schedules, QA metrics, and issue logs.
• Apply Agile methodologies and SDLC best practices across delivery processes.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce security, coding, and documentation standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and delivery optimisation.
• Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

The Ideal Candidate

• 8+ years of experience in software development within the banking or financial services domain.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Silverlake Core Banking, particularly the Customer (CIF) module.
• Solid technical background with AS400, including DB2/400, RPG400, and CL400.
• Proven experience in delivery management, effort estimation, and task planning.
• Strong understanding of core banking systems, release management, and production support.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks and structured SDLC environments.
