Job summary

Chronos Consulting in Malaysia seeks an experienced Senior Contract & Commercial Engineer to support contract management, tendering and commercial activities within the energy engineering and industrial services sector.

You will manage pre- and post-contract activities, review tender documents and coordinate proposals, while drafting contractual correspondence and ensuring proper handover and documentation. Strong English and Malay skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Manage pre- and post-contract activities including variations, monthly progress claims and final accounts.
• Review tender documents, Bills of Quantities (BQ) and contractual terms.
• Coordinate preparation and timely submission of technical and commercial proposals.
• Draft contractual correspondence and monitor contract variations within agreed timelines.
• Coordinate contractor registration, prequalification and shortlisting for tenders.

Responsibilities

• Participate in tender interviews, client meetings and techno-commercial discussions.
• Review Letters of Award and contract documents, preparing summaries for handover to project operations teams.
• Ensure proper project handover, including scope, schedules, terms and conditions.
• Maintain accurate contract records, project files and documentation in line with company procedures and quality standards.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in estimation, preferably within engineering, construction, industrial services or a related sector.
• Experience in contract administration, tendering, commercial proposals, variations and final accounts.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
• Strong numerical, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English and Malay.
• Proficient in standard office applications.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently under pressure.
