Rodgers Reidy & Co in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Consultant or Consultant to join our team full-time. You will deliver strategic guidance on corporate restructuring, insolvency matters and financial recovery for a diverse client base, with opportunities to handle high-impact engagements across Malaysia.

The role offers professional development, mentoring from senior practitioners and exposure to complex proceedings, including regulatory liaison, reporting, and business development.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience for Senior Consultant level or 1+ year for Consultant level.
• Strong understanding of Malaysian insolvency law and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information clearly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously and work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel for client engagements when required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial investigations and forensic analysis on distressed businesses to identify causes of financial difficulty and develop recovery strategies.
• Prepare detailed restructuring plans and insolvency proposals, including financial projections and recovery scenarios.
• Provide advisory services to directors, creditors and stakeholders on insolvency and restructuring options.
• Manage and oversee liquidation and administration proceedings, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Negotiate with creditors, lenders and other parties to facilitate settlements and workouts.
• Prepare statutory reports, statements of affairs and financial documentation for insolvency proceedings.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, courts and agencies on insolvency matters.
• Develop and maintain client relationships through regular communication and high-quality advice.
• Contribute to business development and industry thought leadership initiatives.

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Consultant or Consultant to join our team at our Kuala Lumpur office on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal role within our team, offering the opportunity to work on high-impact engagements across Malaysia. You will provide strategic advice on corporate restructuring, insolvency matters and financial recovery to a diverse client base. This position offers considerable scope for professional development and the chance to build expertise in one of the most dynamic areas of accounting and professional services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial investigations and forensic analysis on distressed businesses to identify causes of financial difficulty and develop recovery strategies
• Prepare detailed restructuring plans and insolvency proposals, including financial projections and recovery scenarios
• Provide advisory services to company directors, creditors and other stakeholders on insolvency and restructuring options
• Manage and oversee liquidation and administration proceedings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and statutory obligations
• Negotiate with creditors, lenders and other interested parties to facilitate settlement agreements and workout arrangements
• Prepare statutory reports, statements of affairs and financial documentation required in insolvency proceedings
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, courts and government agencies on matters relating to insolvency and corporate recovery
• Develop and maintain client relationships through regular communication and the delivery of high-quality professional advice
• Contribute to business development activities and participate in industry events and thought leadership initiatives

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in insolvency, corporate recovery or restructuring (for Senior Consultant level) or 1+ years for Consultant level
• Strong understanding of Malaysian insolvency law, the Companies Act and relevant regulatory frameworks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously and work effectively under pressure
• Willingness to travel for client engagements when required
