Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Commercial & Contracts Manager/ Assistant Manager (MEP / Data Centre) in Malaysia, Johor. The role focuses on vendor selection, contract negotiation, procurement and risk management to optimize cost and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in contract administration within construction (GC), MEP QS, and leadership of a team for large-scale projects including data centres. Mandarin proficiency is advantageous for China-based vendors.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of contract administration experience in construction (GC)
• Experience in MEP QS
• Experience leading a team at managerial level
• Experience in large-scale construction and data centre projects is a plus
• Mandarin proficiency is an advantage with China-based vendors; English candidates with MEP experience are encouraged

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement plans to optimize cost, quality, delivery and efficiency.
• Source, evaluate and select vendors based on commercial and technical criteria.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and purchase agreements.
• Monitor vendor performance for timely delivery and quality.
• Manage supplier relationships and resolve commercial issues.
• Track procurement spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Review terms to identify commercial risks and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Procurement and Projects on commercial matters.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, quotations and orders.
