Job summary

SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Bhd in Penang/Simpang Ampat seeks a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical background to maintain and optimize CNC machines, including milling, turning, grinding, and EDM systems. You will work with FANUC, Siemens and other controllers, driving uptime and reliability.

The role requires hands-on experience in preventive maintenance, root-cause analysis, calibration, and process improvements, with a proactive approach to safety and equipment integrity.

Qualifications

Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on CNC machining workshop experience.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for CNC machines.
Perform lubrication, alignment checks, cleaning, and calibration.
Monitor machine performance and predict potential failures.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on CNC equipment.
Repair spindles, servo motors, ball screws, tool changers and control panels.
Minimize downtime by responding quickly to breakdowns.
Maintain CNC controllers and back up machine parameters and programs.
Support lean manufacturing and TPM initiatives.
