Job summary

UEM Edgenta Bhd in Sabah seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to supervise construction sites for road and bridge projects. You will ensure materials, workmanship, and drawings compliance, and witness tests at specified stages.

The role requires coordinating with RE and WPC to address issues and enforce safety, health, and environmental standards. The candidate should hold a civil engineering degree with at least 7 years of field supervision experience and be a certified Inspector of Works with

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Minimum 7 years of site supervision experience in road and bridge projects.
Certified Inspector of Works (registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia).

Responsibilities

Ensure approved materials are used and correct workmanship is followed by WPC.
Ensure works comply with Construction Drawings for correct dimensions, levels and locations.
Inspect WPC’s work in stages according to requested dates/times.
Witness testing of all materials and work as requested by WPC.
Note site instructions and directives on drawings to ensure they are addressed before cover.
Prepare a written list of points to address in concurrence with the RE; verify rectifications.
Inform WPC and ARE if WPC fails to comply with Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements.
