Job summary

CBRE Asia Pacific is seeking a Chargeman responsible for safe operation, maintenance and compliance of high-tension and low-voltage electrical infrastructure in Malaysia. The role requires conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on switchgear, transformers, generators and distribution boards, and ensuring compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Chargeman Certification (A4) from Suruhanjaya Tenaga
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in HT/LV operations and maintenance
• Good understanding of electrical safety, energy conservation, and compliance standards

Responsibilities

• The Chargeman is responsible for safe operation, maintenance, and compliance of HT/LV electrical infrastructure
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on switchgear, transformers, generators, and distribution boards
• Troubleshoot electrical faults to minimize downtime
• Ensure compliance with Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) regulations
• Prepare and support scheduled inspections and certifications
• Monitor load distribution and system performance
• Implement safety controls and emergency response procedures
