Job summary

TE Connectivity Manufacturing Malaysia is seeking a BO Chargeman to ensure safe operation and control of electrical installations within the authorized scope. You will manage switching, isolation, and maintenance coordination, while ensuring compliance with safety procedures and statutory requirements.

The role requires hands-on experience with HT/LV systems, switchgear, and protection equipment, plus the ability to respond quickly to electrical faults and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid BO Chargeman competency/license for the electrical installation and scope.
• Extensive experience with industrial HT/LV electrical systems.
• Proven ability to operate and maintain switchgear and distribution systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety and LOTO procedures.
• Willingness to shift work and on-call duties when required.
• Experience supervising electrical contractors in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for safe operation of HT/LV electrical installations within the authorized competency.
• Operate and monitor HT switchgear, LV switchboards, transformers, MCCs, relays and distribution systems.
• Monitor loading, voltage, current, power factor and system abnormalities.
• Maintain electrical operation and switching logs; perform and supervise switching operations.
• Ensure proper isolation before maintenance and implement LOTO requirements.
• Coordinate and supervise electrical PM activities; ensure inspections and testing.
• Respond to electrical trips, power failures and faults; troubleshoot within competency.
